Founded in 1998 by Dr. and Mrs. John Cook, Indigenous Ministries (IM) focuses on training and partnering with national pastors and church leaders to reach nationals through nationals for Christ.
After over a year of living in India, the need for training nationals was evident, launching the concept of Indigenous Ministries. Beginning with church planting efforts, conferences, children’s home and national partnerships in India, IM was started.
In 2003, IM launched the Middle East Outreach through the National Baptist Church of Baghdad. Working through a cooperative effort with the Evangelical Denominations in Jordan (2005) and Lebanon. In 2008, our Egyptian ministry began through one of our nationally trained leaders.
In 2006, Beautiful International was launched by Dee Cook to minister to women alongside current Pastors’ Conferences.
2010: the Enguerra’s joined IM with a burden for Southeast Asia.
2011: IM’s ministry in The Galilee (Israel) started with an emphasis on youth and music ministries.
2014: Marked the beginning of our ministry work in Myanmar. With the rise of ISIS in Iraq, IM became involved in relief aid, traveling twice into northern Iraq to meet with refugees, Pastors, and those ministering, and to bring supplies, as well as funds. A shipment of 45,000lbs of winter clothing was also shipped in for the refugee camps. The GBC memorial chapel was completed on the new property in India.
