GBC ALUMNI IMPACTS NEIGHBORHOOD FOR CHRIST

Every student and alumni at Grace Bible College, a Bible college in Central India, has a story to tell of how they came to know the Lord, and how they came to study at GBC. From villages throughout India, they come to study the Bible and learn theology in English, making the first year quite remarkable and challenging. It’s somewhat of a melting pot. While we may think of India as “one big” culture, there are over 649,000 villages, 415 living languages, 23 officially recognized languages and over 19,500 spoken mother tongues. India’s diverse cultural landscape is endlessly unique and definitely “one of a kind” world-over.

Several years ago after one of our alumni, “Seela” came to know the Lord, she felt like there had to be more and had a growing desire to learn the deeper truths of the Bible, so she enrolled at GBC.

A widow, Seela continued to do her work as a seamstress as she attended classes, juggling family responsibilities, homework and exams. She was surprised at how much she didn’t know about the Bible, even though she had been attending a church. She persevered for three years, graduated and started a prayer group of the people she had led to the Lord and it grew. Now she shepherds several other prayer groups of more who have come to Christ as she shares from the Bible what she has learned at GBC. Seela’s humility is blended with the obvious excitement she has to see God answer prayers, heal hearts and draw people to himself. She is impacting her town for Christ.

Grace Bible College is the only Bible college in Central India within an area of 10,000 square miles – the closest one is 100 miles away. The need GBC fills in this area is very significant and is a tool to train the next generation in this area to reach their neighborhoods for Christ.
