Child Sponsorship Program in Egypt: Yussery’s Story of Transformation

In Upper Nile, Egypt, our Child Sponsorship Program continues to make an impact thanks to your prayers and support. Yussery’s story is particularly special. He was a young boy when his widowed mother, struggling to put food on the table, asked if he could join our Child Sponsorship Program (CSP). We were thrilled to welcome him into the program. Through years of spiritual growth and education support, Yussery began to thrive.

After high school, he applied for and received a scholarship from Indigenous Ministries to attend law school. The journey wasn’t easy—he struggled at university and nearly quit. But thanks to the encouragement of our IM staff and the love of Christ demonstrated through his mentors, he persevered. Today, Yussery is a bright, confident young man who loves the Lord deeply.

Without the godly male role models of Pastor Magdi and Pastor Emad, Yussery has said he could have turned to gangs, drugs, and alcohol. Instead, his life is now a testimony of God’s grace and transformation. He now gives back by volunteering as a teacher and mentor to other children in the CSP, investing in the next generation.
