Christmas Compassion in Iraq 2023: Transforming Lives Through Generosity
Christmas Compassion in Iraq 2023 arrived at exactly the right time! During this Christmas season, Indigenous Ministries extended outreach to two additional local churches in Kurdistan, providing food baskets to families in need. These families, all refugees, were facing tremendous hardship.
The conversation between our local office and one of the pastors was especially moving. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support, sharing that our assistance not only met urgent physical needs but also transformed the Christmas experience for many in his congregation. Without this help, several families would have had no food to celebrate Christmas 2023.
In his words: “God used you; you have saved us and gave us an amazing Christmas. Many of these families did not have the means to put food on their tables for the holiday season, and your support has made a significant difference in their lives. Thank you.”
This underscores the profound impact that our collective efforts have on communities in crisis. Scripture reminds us of the importance of compassion—especially during Christmas, a time when hearts are tender and open to the hope of the gospel.
Thanks to the generosity of donors and prayer partners, the Christmas for the Children Fundraiser ensured that all children in our Child Sponsorship Program—and even some outside the program—received Christmas gifts and a reminder of the true reason for this season: Jesus.
Your compassion and generosity continue to bring hope to refugee families in Iraq, reflecting Christ’s love in practical ways.
