How to Pray for Iraq in the 2019 Revolution

October 2019 

“We’re asking you and the team for join us in prayers to the Lord for:

* wisdom for politicians and leaders of the country to respond positively to the demonstrators’ requests, and to help those people with limited incomes that sometimes do not exceed $100-200 and live below the poverty line.

* the safety of the demonstrators and to avoid violence and abusive acts against each other.

* the demonstrators for get their rights, which is to receive a reasonable salaries for a decent living.

* The church to be more effective in such a context, through supporting such families.”

As you pray for Christians:

1. Pray for pastors in churches in Iraq to preach God’s Word without fear or favor 
2. Pray for the homes and marriages of church leaders, so they hold close to the Word and to each other
3. Pray that the Christians would not live in fear, and as such, shine out as lights in the darkness
4. Pray for full provision of the needs of Christians, first on their behalf, secondly so they might share with their friends and neighbors in need.  
5. In the midst of this storm, pray for opportunities to share the good news with many
6. Pray for unity within the churches and that they would join together in love and unity

As you pray for Iraq: 

1. Pray that the government leaders would have a spirit of understanding and listening to protesters
2. Pray against the sins of lying, deceit and corruption in the government
3. Pray for Iraq to be empty from the influences of other countries
4. Pray for jobs to be created in Iraq 
5. Pray for government to make clean drinking water available for all
6. Pray that the Iraqi government would release funds to pay the school teachers and police

Pray for peace, righteousness, quietness and confidence 

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.
