From May 11-22, Indigenous Ministries hosted an Israel Tour and Pilgrimage that was fun, informative, intense, spiritually encouraging and challenging. Led by IM’s CEO, Dr. John Cook and his wife, Dee, our group of 15 traveled to Nazareth, Cana, the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Jericho, the Dead Sea, Jerusalem and Bethlehem to name some of the historical sights. Amer, our fantastic local guide, shared historical information in easy to understand terms, while John shared numerous devotions connecting the physical sights to the Scriptures. Every day we walked 3-7 miles and saw numerous significant monument, valleys, churches and ancient ruins, or “dead stones.”

As important as the “dead” stones are to the geographical area, the people and connection to God’s Word, even more important are the “Living Stones,” or the current day Believers who live in Israel and love the Lord. We worshipped with a small church near Nazareth and shared a meal with them, spending precious moments together. Indigenous Ministries is engaged in a number of countries around the world with “Living Stones,” nationals we count it a privilege to engage in training and ministry together to nationals of their own country sharing the hope and good news of Jesus Christ.
