The Impact of Child Sponsorship in Baghdad: Jessica Ara’s Story
Child sponsorship in Baghdad is changing lives—and Jessica Ara is one example. She is in eighth grade and loves school, especially reading. A refugee and participant in our Child Sponsorship Program in Baghdad, Jessica is thriving both academically and spiritually.
She consistently ranks first in her classes and is currently learning how to play the piano and organ through lessons at her church. Her dream is to play for worship during church services one day. Jessica loves the Lord and is growing in her faith.
Her father works as a security guard and her mother is a homemaker. Jessica enjoys spending time with her brother and sister, often helping them by teaching what she learns in school. Her passion for learning and her generous heart are just two of the many reasons we’re so proud of her.
Although Jessica is already sponsored (thank you, sponsors!), there are many other children in Baghdad still waiting for someone to walk alongside them. Through your support, refugee children like Jessica gain access to education, emotional support, and opportunities to grow in their faith.
