Honoring John W. Cook: One Year Later

This month marks the one-year anniversary of the passing of our beloved founder and CEO, John W. Cook, on March 30, 2023, in Erbil, Iraq. John loved and served the Lord faithfully throughout his life. He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and ministry partners around the world. His legacy of dedication to Christ, service to the global Church, and love for refugees and national pastors continues to inspire us today.

John’s unwavering vision laid the foundation for Indigenous Ministries’ impact across the Middle East, India, and North Africa. Whether through theological education, refugee care, or church planting, his life reflected the Gospel in action. Many of us who served with him remember his humility, wisdom, and relentless passion for empowering nationals to lead.

To honor his legacy, we invite you to reflect on one of his favorite verses:
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

John believed in doing the good works God prepared—not just in theory, but in daily obedience. That legacy continues through the ongoing ministry of Indigenous Ministries.
