Middle East Conflict: Pray for Peace and Protection

On Saturday, April 13, Iran launched a massive aerial assault against Israel, firing 120 ballistic missiles—each capable of carrying payloads up to 1,600 pounds—alongside more than 30 cruise missiles and over 170 drones. Thanks to swift action and international defense coordination, most were intercepted, many by brave U.S. forces stationed in the region, including Iraq.

The attack struck fear into countless lives—including our refugee children, families, and Indigenous Ministries team members in Iraq. With almost no warning, the night sky was filled with streaks of light, explosions, and falling debris. Many didn’t know what was happening—whether they were under attack or witnessing something far worse. It felt, for many, like a return to the horrors of war experienced in Iraq and Syria.

By God’s grace, no one was injured, and our team and families are safe.

The geopolitical decisions being made in Israel, the U.S., and Iraq directly impact the lives of millions of innocent people across the Middle East. This is a pivotal moment—an opportunity for leaders to seek peace instead of escalation, and for the global Church to stand in prayer.

God Almighty—who sways the hearts and minds of kings—is sovereign over all things, including the conflicts of the Middle East.

How You Can Pray

• Pray for peace across the region and for a spirit of wisdom, humility, and restraint to overshadow leadership in Iran.

• Pray for our pastors and church leaders ministering faithfully week after week in difficult conditions—for courage, strength, and wisdom.

• Pray for parents comforting their children through fear and uncertainty, that they would be filled with the peace of Christ.
