NEW MINISTRY CENTERS IN NORTH IRAQ
My heart is full as I write these words: last month we opened two new ministry centers in N. Iraq, giving a total of four buildings IMI ministers from in this region.
These make up the third and fourth buildings we are occupying to minister to refugees in the region.
The first new center which is “most” north is almost fully furnished and will be ready for full use in October. I will be in Iraq then and look forward to the dedication of this center. We will invite the local mayor and other government officials as well as pastors from nearby churches. Our refugee families and of course our IMI national staff are overjoyed and can’t wait to use this new center. How I thank the Lord for His provision and this special blessing.
Thanks to generous gifts, we’ve been able to fund half the furnishings (including a kitchen) for this center, and rent for a full year. The remainder needed to complete the center is $5,000. The other new center, which is further south, will be prepared and furnished after the first is completed.
There’s more. Because you so kindly gave $48,213/$50,000 to the Backpack and School Supplies fundraiser, on September 14, our Iraq teams were able to share 130 backpacks and school supplies into another brand new area of ministry in N. Iraq.
I do realize this issue of Liaison is pretty packed with financial and prayer requests, and I am so thankful that we can share these needs before the Lord and before you, our dear Indigenous Ministries family. My very special thanks to our monthly faithful donors! Your love for the children and our teams with your prayers and generosity truly is humbling.
