India: A Challenge for Grace Bible College 2025

India: I’m honored to share a challenge for Grace Bible College 2025. This challenge is for our student body, faculty, and friends of Indigenous Ministries.

As we’ve stepped into this new year, I’m reminded of the profound journey depicted in II Kings 2:1–14. This is the story of Elijah and Elisha traveling together to Gilgal, Bethel, Jericho, and the Jordan River, which resonates deeply with our ministry’s calling and purpose here at Grace Bible College in Central India. Each place symbolizes stages of growth and the challenges we’re faced with.

Reflecting on Growth and Calling at Grace Bible College 2025

To begin with, Gilgal symbolizes a place of beginnings and renewal. It was here that the Israelites first camped after crossing the Jordan, leaving the wilderness behind. For Grace Bible College, Gilgal represents our foundational commitment to biblical education and transforming lives through the good news. As we continue our journey, we reflect on how God has brought us through seasons of preparation and spiritual renewal.

Next, Bethel—the “house of God”—reminds us of the divine encounters and the vision that sustains us. Just as Jacob experienced God’s presence at Bethel, we too are reminded that God’s purpose and promises guide every step we take. Our vision for Grace Bible College has always been rooted in equipping leaders and servants for His Kingdom.

Furthermore, Jericho, a city that symbolizes obedience and triumph, teaches us the importance of faith in the face of challenges. As an institution, we have faced financial and societal barriers; however, through God’s grace, we have seen victories that testify to His faithfulness.

Finally, the Jordan River—the crossing point into a new season—represents transition and legacy. Elijah’s mantle passed on to Elisha at the Jordan, symbolizing the continuation of ministry and an anointing for the next generation. In the same way, as we move forward, we seek to empower the next generation, ensuring that the mantle of service, faith, and excellence is carried forward. This passage encourages us to walk with unwavering faith, trusting God for the journey ahead.

As we embrace Grace Bible College 2025 together, I want to focus our attention on Jesus. Just as Elijah and Elisha walked together, God walks with us—leading and empowering us in what lies ahead.
