Southeast Asia Update

The Philippines – Mel’s father rested in the Father’s arms on Oct. 3, 2015, at 92. Dad, Demosthenes B. Felarca was a WWII veteran and loved his country. Most importantly he loved his Lord Jesus Christ.

As our ministry among the Payatas community continues, the demand for primary and secondary education is very IMG_9351high. Local resources have been unable to provide rooms with the increase of students (80 students/classroom in Payatas public school system).

A project proposal to complete a new building and add more classrooms to accommodate additional students is underway (see picture). In keeping the tuition fees affordable, it’ll encourage scavenger parents to choose to send their children for quality education in a private setting.

We believe that a superior basic education for the children is one of the most important ways to alleviate poverty and help families improve their lives. The desire to accommodate more scavenger children in this facility is hindered by financial shortage.

Completion of the building project will help us continue our mission and vision. We aspire to finish the building before the start of the 2016-17 school year, enabling the school to increase enrollment next year.
