SUMMER BIBLE SCHOOL LAUNCHES IN NORTH IRAQ

Reports from the fields – In July we had the start of summer Bible school. We had previously been trained on the new curriculum. The children were very enthusiastic and eager for the new program. We began with a prayer, followed by praise songs, watching videos on the lesson, and teaching stories. We showed pictures on the screen to make it easier for the children to understand the lessons. Then we had art and drawing time related to the lesson. They started coloring and enjoyed it very much. They loved the new curriculum. After that, there was another art activity, and some games and entertainment with the children.

We shared a meal with the children with love. At the end of the day, we reviewed the Bible verse we wanted them to memorize and prayed the closing prayer. Then the children left for home by bus, with the driver who picked them up and dropped them off safely. We regularly follow up with the driver to monitor their arrival and departure times. We also contact the parents if there are any problems or obstacles the children face. We monitor their daily attendance and we ask the children if they have memorized the verse. We also ask them what they did during the week, how they benefited from the Bible school they attended. Most of the children were eager and shared everything they had learned previously and the verses they had memorized.

The children have become creative in their lessons and activities. These are just a few pictures from the summer school this month.

Why only 4.8 stars? At one lunch, some kids only got a half a sandwich bringing our numbers down slightly…but summer’s not over!
