TYPHOONS HIT PHILIPPINES
Typhoons Saudel and Goni hit the Philippines in October with sustained winds of 85 and 140 mph respectively caused severe flooding. Another typhoon, Ulysses directly impacted Manila causing more severe flooding. Resty Enguerra, team lead of the Philippines work, shared that one of our Conservative Baptist national pastors, Rey Avante and his family, lost his home to the flooding. The family is alright.
The pictures here are from the Payatas Dumpsite where most of the children in our sponsorship program live. There were no casualties, thank God, but as you can see, homes were flooded and damaged.
Please keep these families in your prayers. Because of COVID, Resty and the IMI leadership had decided to give additional food in August, September and October to the familIes in Payatas Dumpsite because of the lack of income for many of these familIes.
Gifts for relief aid can be given online at indigenousministries.org to the Southeast Asia Fund.
