Women’s Conference in India
“Emotional Excellence” the Theme
A women’s conference in India with the theme, Emotional Excellence, was held recently. It was a joy to meet together with these beautiful women whom I have known and taught for many years. When we get together each year, I am always blessed with their love for God, their families, churches and community. The purpose for these meetings is to bring biblical training and meaningful application. With this year’s theme, emotional excellence, a number of women shared how much they needed help in this area. We looked into ways our emotions can be a blessing and yet can bring damage to ourselves and others. We also shared practical ways to understand and use our emotions for good, even in tough times.
How Our Emotions can Change from Chaos to Excellence
Colossians 3:12 was the focus verse from the Scriptures, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” We’re not like those who don’t have hope, strength or without an example of how we are to use our emotions. Christ showed the way for us with his life and his death. Paul, in this verse, urges us to clothe ourselves as compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient. None of these can be shown for long on our own. We were designed for a relationship with God. One that is continually growing and one where we continue to become more like his dear son, Jesus. The change from chaotic emotions to emotional excellence is the fruit of our faith and dependence on Christ; his life in us.
Thank you for your special prayers and financial support which makes these Beautiful International (BI) Women’s Conferences and trainings possible, blessing women in Iraq, Egypt and India.
Women’s Meeting in the Middle East
Last month I also led a Beautiful International Women’s Meeting in North Iraq. These meetings enable Indigenous Ministries to minister to the mothers of the children in our Child Sponsorship Program and women in the communities we work in.
